The family of Zola Mae Landry Cooper, 95, of Jennings, LA, announces her passing on April 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday April 25, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, with Father Keith Pellerin officiating. Following the mass, Zola will depart to South Carolina, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, in Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery near Ware Shoals, SC, under the direction of Parker White Funeral Home.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Miguez funeral home in Jennings, beginning on Wednesday April 24, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.
Zola was born on May 28, 1928, in Jennings, LA, to Dolzia Landry and Ernestine Lavergne Landry. She loved spending time in the garden taking care of her vegetables. You could often find her enjoying cooking and spending time with her family, especially spoiling her grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Samuel (Cindy) Cooper; brother, Wilbur Landry; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Cooper; parents; sons, Horace Wayman Cooper, Gerald Landry Cooper, and Steven Perry Cooper; sister, Hazel Ravey; and a brother, Whitley Landry.
