Lake Arthur A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Zachary Zaunbrecher, 60, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 20, 2015 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating. Burial will be in the Thornwell Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation in Lake Arthur will be on Thursday, March 19, 2015 will be from 1:30 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a rosary being recited at 6 P.M. Visitation on Friday will be from 8:00 A.M. until the time of service. Mr. Zaunbrecher died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 7:40 A.M. at his residence. He was a native of Gueydan and a resident of Thornwell for the past 52 years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus #3012 where he was past Grand Knight. Mr. Zaunbrecher was a farmer and was past President of the Thornwell Warehouse Association. He loved to watch bull riding, enjoyed McNeese football, spending time with his grandkids and most of all family times. Mr. Zaunbrecher is survived by his wife; Cathy Fontenot Zaunbrecher of Lake Arthur, a daughter; Shannon Zaunbrecher and her children, Jobe Zachary and Thad John, a son; Scott McCord and children, a brother; Gregory “Butch” Zaunbrecher and wife Chris of Thornwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Laura Broussard Zaunbrecher, a son, Zachary Zaunbrecher, Jr. and a sister Priscilla Hanks. Pallbearers will be Stephen Berken, Ric Berken, Jake Toups, Jene Hanks, Mark Zaunbrecher and Darrell Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Byler and Philip Byler.
