Winfield Yeatman Hundley, Jr. "Bubby"

Memorial services for Mr. Winfield Yeatman “Bubby” Hundley, Jr., 83, of Lake Arthur were held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Jay Alexius officiating.

Visitation for Mr. Hundley will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the church and continue until the Mass of Christian Burial begins at 1:00 p.m. 

Mr. Hundley was born on August 17, 1939, in Eunice, Louisiana, to Winfield Y. Hundley and Mabel Broussard Hundley. 

Mr. Hundley, along with his wife, Judy, moved to Lake Arthur in 1961 and began raising cattle and farming rice until the early 1970’s.  He was one of the first farmers in Jeff Davis Parish area to utilize levee flood gates on a rice farm.  In the early 1970’s he began a career in the oil and gas industry.  He continued in the industry until his retirement in 2004. Following his retirement, he spent much of his time pursuing his woodworking hobby.

Bubby,  as he was known to all, was a great storyteller and a man of many, many words. He will be remembered fondly by family and friends.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 62 years, Judy Frey Hundley; daughter, Wendy (Dale) Hotard; son, Peter Hundley; three grandchildren, Pete (Ashton) Hotard; Emma (Evans) Henry and David Hotard; and three great grandchildren, Colette, and Nolan Hotard and Yeatman Henry.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bruce Hundley.

In remembrance of Mr. Hundley’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the American Heart Association.
