Wilma Marie Deshotel, 78, of Evangeline, LA, passed away on July 3, 2023, in the Jeff Davis Living Center, surrounded by her family. 

The family is respecting Ms. Wilma’s wishes of cremation. Cremation will take place under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. 

Wilma was born on August 14, 1944, in Basile, LA, to Ivy Deshotel and Josephine Vassuer. She grew up in the Evangeline and Basile area most of her life. She attended Iota High School, where she was a 1963 graduate from there. During her life, she worked at the sewing factory and waffle house in Jennings, which she enjoyed. If you know Wilma, you know she loved the outdoors and enjoyed cleaning all kinds of game and seafood. She loved her family deeply and cherished every moment with them. 

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Dora Clement of Evangeline; son, Harold Clement, Jr.; sisters, Maria Deshotel, Ethel Bergeaux, and Janice Ashford; brother, Hubert Deshotel; grandchildren, Paige (Pedro) Trujano and Susan (Brent) Romero, Penny Murray; great-grandchildren Kyndra, Leland, Julian, Temperance, Nessidora, Kylie, Angel, Martin, and Julianna.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Clement, Sr.; brothers, Allen and Albert Deshotel; and her daughter-in-law, Julia Clement.
