Mr. William Hugh Wingate, Jr., 70, of Lake Arthur passed away on July 3, 2021 at his residence.  Mr. Wingate was born on December 3, 1950 in Fernandina Beach, FL to William Hugh and Beatrice Clemens Wingate and had five sisters and three brothers.

He worked as a loader in the oil and gas industry.  He enjoyed fishing, shrimping and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Mr. Wingate served his country honorably in the Army during the Viet Nam war.

Memorial visitation for Mr. Wingate will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 in Jennings from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following.

Those left behind to cherish his memory his grandchildren Madison and Taylor Monroe; Jacob Witt, Harrison Rosfeld, Alysha and Tray Goodwin; and great grandchildren, Taylen Bellard, Ayden Monroe, Avionna Arceneaux, Aleah Goodwin and Krislynn Goodwin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Christy Hebert; son William Wingate III.

The family has entrusted his cremation to Miguez Funeral Home.
