William "Bill" Landry

Lake Arthur Funeral services for Mr. William Bill Landry, 88, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Jeff Starkovich officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will be in Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Visitation will begin on Friday, May 10, 2013, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Visitation on Saturday will be from 8 a.m. until the time of service. Mr. Landry died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 2:51 a.m. in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Jennings. Mr. Landry was a retired rice farmer, a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, a Marine veteran of World War II, and a Purple Heart Recipient. He loved to cook and was an avid cattleman. He is survived by three daughters, Sylvia (Terry) LeDoux of Jennings, Linda (Harold) Taylor of Baton Rouge, and Ouida Landry of Lake Charles; two sons, Danny Landry of Lake Arthur and David Landry of Longview, TX; a sister, Alice Landry Granger of Jennings; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Landry was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Martin Landry, a daughter, Joyce Landry, parents Eldridge and Helen Landry, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
