William "Bill" Baker

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Bill Baker, 58, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 23, 2010 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Clyde Thomas officiating. Funeral home visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Thursday; and 8:00 a.m. Friday until time of services. Following the services Mr. Bakers body will be cremated. A rosary led by Marion Simar will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Baker died at 9:47 am, Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at his residence in Lake Arthur. Mr. Baker was a native of Gueydan and a resident of Lake Arthur 22 years moving there from Lafayette. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp, was a police officer in law enforcement and was a member of the K-9 Task Force. He was a former officer for Lake Arthur and Church Point Police Departments, and was a shop foreman and parts manager for Truck Center of Acadiana. Survivors include his wife, Florence Emelie Aguillard Baker of Lake Arthur; his mother, Blanche Arnaud Baker of Lake Arthur; four daughters, Krisa Choplin and husband Jerry of Lafayette, Krista Simar and husband Trey of Egan, Amanda Aguillard of Lake Arthur and Victoria Baker also of Lake Arthur; one sister, Brenda Baker of Lafayette and one brother, Michael Baker of Boston, MA; and five grandchildren.
