William Alan Gueringer

William Alan Gueringer, 61, of Sulphur, LA passed away on November 18, 2020 in New Orleans at the VA Medical Center.

Alan (which was what everyone called him) was born on September 30, 1959 in Lake Charles, LA to James “Pete” and Ellen “Patsy” Gueringer.

Alan enjoyed fishing, games, hunting, spending time with family cooking, and enjoying the great outdoors. He enjoyed camping, astronomy, and always enjoyed studying the night sky with his telescope. Alan will always be known for having a big heart and doing anything for anybody. He will be missed by everyone who knew him and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving mother, Ellen “Patsy” Gueringer; three siblings, James D. Gueringer and wife Jeanette, Susan Lynette Smith and husband Bobby; Steven “Paul” Gueringer and wife Lisa; nieces and nephews, Mistie, April, Ashley, Chloe, Jeremey, Bryan, Jessica, and Matthew; great nieces and nephews, Ava Grace, Brooke, Jameson, Tyler, Kaitlynn, Dylan, Connor, Emma, Dayne, Ryleigh, Madisyn, Lilly, Raya, and Tessa.

He is preceded in death by his father, James “Pete” Gueringer; paternal grandparents, Hugh and Bessie Gueringer; maternal grandparents William Luther and Ollie Gill.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, November 23, 2020 at First Baptist of Carlyss. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist of Carlyss. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South.
