JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Wayne Alvin Patterson, 71, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 10, 2011 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Revs.Jerry Masters and Charles McMillin officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m Wednesday; and 8:00 a.m. until time of services Thursday . A rosary led by the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Patterson was a native of Jennings. He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. He previously served as Deputy Grand Knight for the 3rd degree KCs and was elected Knight of the Year in 2009 and 2010. He was a devoted Jennings High School sports fan. He was present for every sporting event both home and away whenever possible. He also loved hunting and fishing with family and friends. He and many of his friends and former coaches got together often for supper and great storytelling. He was a graduate of Northeast State University where he earned a degree in pharmacy. He practiced pharmacy for 39 years and retired from Jennings American Legion Hospital in 2003. Survivors include his wife, Linda Roberts Patterson of Jennings, two sons, Michael Wayne Patterson and wife Donna from Prairieville, LA, and Robert Mark Patterson and wife Bettina of Jennings; five grandchildren, Timothy Michael, Emily Ann and Sarah Beth Patterson from Prairieville and Kyle James and Samantha Kay Patterson of Jennings; one sister-in-law, Diane Roberts Bartelme and husband Joe P. of San Diego, CA. Mr. Patterson is preceded in death by his parents, Clinton A. and Lucille Briggs Patterson and in-laws, Paul R. Roberts and Nell E. Roberts. Pallbearers will be Timothy Patterson of Prairieville, Kyle Patterson of Jennings, Dale Billeaudeaux of Sulphur, Kirk Billeaudeaux of Fenton, Shelby Comeaux of Crowley and Brian Wells of Jennings. Honorary pallbearers will be his Supper Club friends.
