Wallace "Wally" F. Manuel

Jennings Funeral services for Mr. Wallace Wally Fred Manuel, 73, will be held on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller French Baptist Church with Rev. Garland Reed officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Visitation today, Sunday, March 28, 2010 will be in the funeral home chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday visitation will be at the Miller French Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mr. Manuel died Friday, March 26, 2010 at 6:45 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette. Mr. Manuel was a native and lifelong resident of Jennings. He worked for Ford Motor Company as a Zone Manager and retired from Sowela Technical College as an automotive instructor. Mr. Manuel was a member of the Miller French Baptist Church of Iota, the National Rifle Association and was a graduate of McNeese College with a B. S. in Geology. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish at his camp in Little Chenier. He is survived by his wife, Betty Gotte Manuel of Jennings; two daughters, Donna Long and husband Jack of Houston, Tx. and Dr. Alisa Reed Buddell and her husband Mark of the The Woodlands, Tx.; a son, Wallace Fred Manuel, II and wife Jennifer of Lafayette;a sister, Shirley Manuel Johnson and husband Patrick of Kenner, La. and six grandchildren, Jack Long, III, Justin Long, Matthew Reed, Colin Reed, Ainsley Reed and Kate Manuel. Pallbearers will be Wally Manuel, II; Jack Long, Jr.; Jack Long, III; Roy Varnado; Mark Buddell and Pete Juneau. Honorary Pallbearers will be Patrick Johnson and Harold Langley. The family would like to thank Mrs. Helen Istre for her support during the time of Wallaces illness. Memorials in honor of Mr. Manuel may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Miller French Baptist Church Building Fund, 212 Mamou Prairie Road, Iota, La. 70543.
