Wallace John Mallett

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Wallace John Mallett, 81, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating. Burial will be in the Andrus Cove Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday until time of services Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Mallett died at 10:25 p.m., Sunday, December 8, 2013 in the Camelot Brookside Nursing Home. Mr. Mallett was a lifelong resident of Bayou Chene. He was a retired derickman in the oil and gas industry. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and he was a 4th degree Knight Council #3012. He loved to work in the garden, eat, drink diet coke and his fruit trees. He also loved to cook, wash dishes, and spend time with his fellow Knights. Survivors include two daughters, Lenora Mallett of Welsh, Juanita LeBlanc and husband Harry of Carencro; one son, Lawrence Mallett, Sr. and wife Lula of Morse; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Mr. Mallett is preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Hortense Mallett, his spouse, Advelia Nolan Mallett, a son, Adam John Mallett, Sr.; and a brother, Albert Mallett. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Mallett, Jr., Gaylon Trahan, Glen Roe, Adam Mallett, Alex Mallett and Joseph Istre. Honorary pallbearers will be Reggie Richard, Fabian Trahan, David Mallett, Kenneth Nolan, Antion Nolan, Mathias Saltzman, Derek Trahan, Ronald Mallett, and Brian Meche.
