Jennings Funeral services for Mr. Vurney Ray Dupont, 84 will be held at 2:00 p.m.., Monday, March 30, 2009 in the Roanoke United Methodist Church with Rev. Lisa Turnbull and Rev. Truman Stagg officiating. Burial with Military Graveside Honors will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Welsh under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday; and at the Roanoke United Methodist Church on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. Mr. Dupont died at 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 26, 2009 at his residence in Roanoke. Mr. Dupont was a resident of Roanoke for 75 years and was a retired carpenter. He was a member of the Roanoke United Methodist Church and was a World War II Navy veteran. Mr. Dupont is survived by two daughters; Sharon Mallett and husband Robert of Lacassine, Janet Ardoin and husband Eldridge of Roanoke, two sons; Ronald Dupont of Moss Bluff, Dennis Dupont and wife, Mary Lois of Lacassine, 9 grandchildren: April Ardoin and Ryan Ardoin of Welsh, Amy Broussard of Roanoke, Heather Buller of Kinder, Kelli Corbello of Lake Charles, Lori Lognion of Bell City, Brandon Dupont of Bellingham, WA., Jennifer Abshire of Welsh, Lisa Dupont of Lake Charles and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Onezia Leger Dupont, his wife of 62 ½ years, Wanda Earl Dupont, and a sister, Amy Dupont Stanley.
