Voorhies Vincent

Funeral services for Mr. Voorhies Joseph Vincent, 82, of Jennings, LA, will be held Thursday October 10, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, with Father Keith Pellerin officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Miguez Funeral Home, on Wednesday October 9, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. until the time to depart for church at 9:45 a.m. Burial will take place in Bertrand Cemetery, under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Mr. Voorhies passed away peacefully in his home, on Sunday October 6, 2024, at the age of 82.

He was born in Jennings, LA, on August 25, 1942, to Moorhies Vincent and Lillian Breaux Vincent. He was a family man, cherishing his family deeply. If you knew him, you know he enjoyed cutting his grass, dancing, and walking the neighborhood enjoying life. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy's fan. Voorhies was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. He will always hold a special place in our hearts.

He is survived by his sons, Michael (Jo) Vincent and Tommy (Dana) Vincent; sisters, Dorothy Duhon and Loritta Gray; brother, Jessie Vincent; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a host of friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirleen Lopez Vincent, his parents and one sister, Bertha Fontenot.
