Funeral services for Mrs. Virgie Teresa Hebert, 82, will be held on Wednesday April 26, 2023, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, at 1:00 p.m. with Father Jay Alexius officiating. Burial will take place in St. Anthony Cemetery in Lake Arthur under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday April 25, 2023, starting at 11:30 a.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home in Lake Arthur and will continue until 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. and continue until the time to depart for church at 12:40 p.m. 

Mrs. Virgie was born on May 3, 1940, in Gueydan, Louisiana to Elaire and Edia Simon Hebert. She passed away on April 22, 2023, surrounded by her family.

She loved cooking, playing cards, working outside with her plants and flowers.  She really enjoyed drinking coffee and visiting with her friends. She babysat many children and considered all of them her grandchildren. She had a very strong faith and a great love for God. But most importantly she loved and adored her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ricky Hebert of Lake Charles, Darrell (Laurie) Hebert of Lake Arthur and Michael Hebert of Lake Arthur; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Gabriel Hebert, Jr.; daughters, Cynthia Doucet, JoAnn Hebert, Joy Hebert; son, Bryan Hebert; sisters, Helen Simon and Betty Lou Simon; and brothers, Dave and Joseph Duffy Hebert. 

Pallbearers are Braden Hebert, Gabe Hebert, Schuylor Guidry, Tyler Doucet, Tristan Doucet and Charles Simon.  

Honorary Pallbearers are Dusty Simon, Stephen Uke, Jeremy Uke and Carson Harrington.
