Velda Theunissen

Funeral services for Mrs. Velda Theunissen, 82, formerly of Jennings, will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 2:00p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. Tuesday until time of service. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Monday, in the funeral home chapel.

Mrs. Theunissen passed away October 27, 2018 in Maurice, Louisiana. She was born July 25, 1936 in Jennings to Cheavry and Rena Fontenot Guidry. She worked as a Walmart Associate in Jennings for 22 years and as a Pre-K Aide at Our Lady Immaculate School.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pirmin Theunissen; her parents, Cheavy and Rena Fontenot Guidry and grandson Brian Patrick Theunissen; brother, Donald “Tony” Guidry and sister, Verna Mae Ippolito.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Denise Theunissen, Mary LaFleur and husband Bentley of Lafayette, Stephen Theunissen and wife Carole of Abbeville, David Theunissen of Monroe and Michael Theunissen and wife Kim of Baton Rouge and Ann Johnson and husband Jay of Wilmington, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 3 great grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren and former daughter-in-law Angie Theunissen.
