Timothy Adam O'Blanc, 64, passed away on August 22, 2024, at 7:22 p.m., surrounded by his loving family.
Timothy was born on August 24, 1959, in Jennings, LA, and was raised in Lake Arthur. He was an oilfield consultant and most recently worked in The Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas. Timmy was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and uncle to his family. He loved working on the farm, being outdoors and watching McNeese and LSU sports. He was especially proud that his children and their spouses were all McNeese Alumni.
Survivors include his son, Dane (Shelby) O'Blanc and daughter Jada (Chad) Brockhoeft, both of Lake Charles, LA; his grandchildren, Liesel O'Blanc, Evie Brockhoeft and Evan Brockhoeft; his mother, Betty O'Blanc of Lake Arthur; uncles, Alton (Gloria) O'Blanc of Lake Arthur and Floyd Istre of Jennings; siblings, Milton (Renee) O'Blanc of Porter, Texas, Pamela (William) Commander of Martinez, Georgia, Patricia Bertrand of Lake Arthur, Jed (Brenda) O'Blanc of Cypress Point and Paula (Scott) Roy of Andrus Cove; his special friend, Gracie Stewart of Three Rivers, Texas; the mother of his children, Mona Guidry; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 27, 2024, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, with Father Jay Alexius officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Miguez Funeral Home in Lake Arthur on Monday, August 26, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited Monday at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m., until the time to depart for church at 12:30 p.m.
He will be laid to rest in St. Anthony Cemetery, in Lake Arthur, under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, especially Dr. Jessica Maxwell and Dr. Brandon Smaglo, as well as Dr. Michael Broussard with Lake Charles Memorial Hospital Oncology, Dr. Christopher Achee with Ochsner American Legion Hospital, and the staff of Harbor Hospice, for the amazing care and compassion they have extended to Timmy in his time of need.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center or Lake Charles Memorial Hospital Oncology Department.
