JENNINGS…A memorial service for Rev. Thomas K. Reighney, 64, will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 27, 2013 in the First Presbyterian Church in Welsh with Revs. Betty McGehee and Ted Roeling officiating. Visitation will be held in the church prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Funeral home visitation will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings. In West Monroe, visitation will be held at Highland Presbyterian Church on Monday, January 28, 2013 from 4 pm until 6 pm with a Memorial Service at 6 pm with Rev. Joe Hill officiating. Rev. Reighney died at 11:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Rev. Reighney was born in Monroe and lived in West Monroe about half of his life. His foundation of Christian faith came from his family and members of Memorial Presbyterian Church in West Monroe. Before entering the ministry, Tom was a Deputy Sheriff and Detective with the Ouachita Parish Sheriffs Department in Monroe. He was a resident of the Welsh/Jennings area for 26 years. Rev. Reighney was a retired minister of the First Presbyterian Churches in Jennings and Welsh. He retired in 2010 after 23 years of service to the Lord. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He started the Police Chaplin Program. He was a member and officer of Westminster Homes in Jennings for 25 years. He also served on numerous committees for the Presbytery of South Louisiana. Rev. Reighney is survived by his wife, Mary Horton Reighney of Welsh, his daughter, Karen Reighney and son-in-law, Louis Green of Dry Creek; sister, Virginia Reighney of Arlington, VA, and grandson, Kendyll Reighney of Dry Creek. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Jack and Rosalie Reighney Fudickar, and two brothers, William Marion Reighney and Lloyd Wayne Ray.
