Thomas “Bill” Baumann departed this life on January 25, just three days shy of his 94th birthday.
Mr. Bill was a navy veteran of WW II, Korea, and a third-class petty officer where he served aboard many vessels, most notably the USS Beatty. Naval service allowed him to visit over 72 countries around the globe.
A master cattle skinner by trade, he had many talents and abilities. He enjoyed woodworking and spent his time doing seashell art. He was recently honored at a reception by the Zigler museum where many of his creations were on display.
He is survived by his brother Ronald Bowman, son Douglas James Baumann and daughter Catherine Vinson, both of Missouri; Grandchildren – Andrew, Chris, Nicholas, John, Michael, Steven, and Samantha and seven great-children, Alex and Natalie Baumann, Oscar Vinson, Cade Vinson, Sophia and Kinsley Vinson. Arrangements are entrusted to Miguez Funeral Home.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Ethel Scott Baumann and his son John Lawrence Baumann.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home chapel. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at China Cemetery with Military Honors.
