A rosary led by the Catholic Daughters will be recited at 7:00 p.m., today, in the funeral home chapel. On this day, January 19, 2010, at 12:10 p.m. heaven received a new angel. Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother joined her husband Doris, son Gerald, daughter Christine, grandson Jason Benoit and parents W.W. (Curly) and Dora Cole and brother Dennis E. Cole who preceded her in death. Tedine C. Doucet was born April 1, 1938. She married Doris L. Doucet on July 11, 1953 and to this union she was blessed with five children. Of these she is survived by three daughters, Jolene and Carl Quebedeaux of Lake Arthur, Sherry and Bobby White of Jennings, Cynthia and Ricky Landry of Mermentau, and one daughter-in-law Gertie Doucet of Lake Arthur. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Candy Benoit, James (Heather) White, Jeanette (Kent) Leger, Mitch (Andrea) White, Jerry (Theresa) Doucet, Torey (Dusty) Simon, Ryan Landry, Nick (Jen) Quebedeaux, Nicole (Brian) Jones, Joni (Ray) Pardue, Melissa (Corey) Klumpp, Joshua Landry, Marguerite (BJ) Randolph and Michael White. She is also survived by two sisters, Margaret Peyres of Gretna and Sonya (DeeDee) and Carl Guilbeaux of Lake Charles. She was also blessed with 29 great-grandchildren with number thirty expected to arrive in April, and her beloved dog, Suzie. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who never met a stranger. Maw, Maw maw, and Maw maw Douce as she was known amongst the family and friends was a great cook, who would call every Sunday morning to see whose name was in the pot. She always welcomed strangers no matter who they were, where they came from, and what they were there for. Her favorite saying to anyone that graced her front door was, If you leave hungry, it is your own fault. Her best times were spent when her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends were with her and eating at her table. She also enjoyed spending time playing cards with her husband and his brothers and sisters. She met many generations of friends while working as a bar maid at the Red Rose for over thirty years. Carrying Maw maw Douce to her final resting place will be her seven granddaughters at her request and honorary pallbearers will be her seven grandsons.
