Sybil Forestier Istre

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mrs. Sybil Forestier Istre, 84, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMilin officiating. Burial will be in the Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. Funeral home visitation will begin Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mrs. Istre died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014 in her residence. Mrs. Istre was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the YaYa Sisters. Survivors include (2) daughters and sons-in-law, Fayla (Delen) Hay of Lake Charles, Monica (Tony) Trahan of Lake Arthur; (5) five sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchell (Mickey)(Linda) Istre of Jennings, Gerald (Jerry)(Charlotte) Istre of Sulphur, Randall (Ralph)(Marsha) Istre of Ragley, Toby (Barb) Istre of Leblanc, Dwayne (Gayla) Istre of Lake Arthur; (16) grandchildren and (16) great grandchildren. Mrs. Istre is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Helen Mouton Forstier; her husband, Henry J. Istre and two sisters, Louella Lopez and Etta Jean Daniels.
