Sue Whiddon

EVANGELINE….Funeral services for Mrs. Sue Weaver Whiddon, 88, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2016 in the First Baptist Church of Evangeline with Rev. Dennis Fontenot and Rev. Donald Gott officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.

Mrs. Whiddon died at 10:47 a.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital.

Mrs. Whiddon was a native of Zenoria, LA and a resident of Evangeline. She was a loving, faithful Christian wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a very active and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Evangeline where she held many ministry positions including church treasurer for 50 years. She also served as Sunday School Superintendent, and she served on the church visitation program. Until the time of her death she was actively visiting homebound members of her church.

She leaves behind three daughters, Diane and Don Gott of Evangeline, Vicki and Reggie Newsom of Evangeline, Hildy and Carl LeJeune of Lacassine; 7 grandchildren, Andy, Chad, Matt, Lynette, Leslie, Amy and Carrie; 9 great-grandchildren, Skylar, Kirsten, Britney, Lance, Seth, Lana, Ashton, Jacie and Adalynn; three sisters, Lea Ella Weaver of Alexandria, Libby Agosto of Pineville and Janey Henderson of Gainesville, FL.

She is preceded in death by her husband Clifford Whiddon, one daughter, Lindy Whiddon West, and her parents C.P. and Myrtle Weaver.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Whiddon, Merlin Whiddon, John Stockwell, David Stockwell, Freddie LeJeune and Ryan Crochet.
