Jennings A Mass of Christian Burial for Sue Lavergne Gomer, 74 will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Visitation will be at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. A Rosary will be said before the services begin. Ms. Gomer died Sunday, August 10, 2014 at 8:10 a.m. at the Maison De Lafayette Nursing Home. Ms. Gomer was a native of Jennings and a former member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, having moved to Brousssard, LA in the early 90s. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She looked forward to attending graduations, weddings, baptisms or any special event that her family had and loved shopping for the perfect outfit to wear to them. Her hobbies included collecting vintage items, reading, and talking about politics. She was devoted to her three little dogs, Cha-Cha, Holly and Toy. She is survived by three nephews, Wayne Griffin of Jennings, Pitcher Allendorph and wife Marie of Katy, TX, Todd Allendorph and wife Lisa of Broussard; two nieces, Amy Comeaux and husband Guy of Lafayette and Trebie Valancius and husband Stephen of Perry Hall, Maryland; her brother-in-law, Harry Allendorph of Lafayette, and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be: Wayne Griffin, John Griffin, Pitcher Allendorph, Todd Allendorph, Guy Comeaux and Spencer Comeaux. Ms. Gomer was preceded in death by her parents, Amy Mounic and Joseph Lavergne of Jennings and three sisters, Hazel Mott, Melba West and Jo Vida Allendorph.
