Shona Marie Abshire

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Shona Marie Abshire, 36, will be held at 2:00 P.M., today, Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Clyde Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation was from 3:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. Monday; and 8:00 A.M. today, Tuesday until time of services. A rosary led by Brenda Hardee and Christie Melancon was recited at 7:00 P.M. Monday in the funeral home chapel. Shona died at 1:10 P.M. Sunday, January 10, 2010 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Shona was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur and a graduate of the Lake Arthur High School class of 1992. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Survivors include her father, Warren James Abshire of Lake Charles and mother, Judy Ann Melancon of Lake Arthur; her maternal grandmother, Doris Melancon of Gueydan and paternal grandmother, Anne May Abshire of Crowley; two brothers, Todd J. Abshire of Lake Arthur and Tobby J. Abshire also of Lake Arthur.
