JENNINGS. Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Dupuis Martin, 76, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 7, 2015 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating. Burial will be in the Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Thursday; and 8:00 a.m. Friday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Mrs. Martin died at 3:35 p.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2015 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. She was a resident of Jennings 54 years moving here from Lake Arthur. She loved taking care of babies and spending time with her grandbabies and spending time with family. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her four daughters, Annette Simon and Billy Reed of Evangeline, Deborah Britt and husband Scooter of Jennings, Mona Mitchell and husband Kevin of Evangeline, Patricia Alfaro of Iota; one son, Laurent Drue Martin and wife Joy of Evangeline; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Martin is preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Nola Bertrand Dupuis; her husband Lee Drue “Critch” Martin; two grand childeren, Buddy Lee Britt and Amber Britt; two sisters, Leona Fruge, Helen Fruge; and two brothers, Edward Dupuis and Clyde Dupuis. The family would like to say a special thanks to Jennings American Legion Hospital ICU staff and Dr. Christopher Achee for their special care in her final days.
