Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Ann Sonnier Ryder, 77, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2016 in the Miguez Funeral Home in Lake Arthur with Rev. Jay Alexius officiating.

Funeral home visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday; and 8:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.

Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday in the funeral home chapel.

Mrs. Ryder died at 11:46 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in the Lafayette General Southwest.

She was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur. She loved to dance and listen to French music. She also loved visiting with friends and family, barbequing and drinking her afternoon coffee while sitting on the front porch.

Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Ryder, Jr.; one daughter, Ramona Thibodeaux of Lake Arthur; one son, Michael Thibodeaux of Lake Arthur; her best friend, Elyday Thibodeaux of Morse; one step-daughter, Toni Ryder LeJeune of Seminole, OK; one brother, Jerry Sonnier of Lyons Point; grandchildren, Jordy, Hunter and Zoe Thibodeaux; great grandchildren, Jayden and Jordy Thibodeaux, Jr.; and one step-granddaughter, Krystal Benoit.

Mrs. Ryder is preceded in death by her parents, Rene and Clementine Broussard Sonnier; her first husband, Dallas Thibodeaux; one sister, Agnes Gary; two brothers Edward Sonnier and Nolan Thibodeaux; and friend, Klein Conner.
