Funeral services for Mrs. James (Shirley Crochet) Romero, 76, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 2, 2014 in Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating.

Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Funeral home visitation is from 2:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., today; and 8:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Mrs. Romero was a lifelong resident of Jennings and a graduate of the Jennings High School. She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters.

Survivors include her husband, James Reed Romero of Crowley; four daughters, Cathy Benoit of Crowley, Karen Matt of Lake Arthur, Carla Hebert of Iota, Connie Romero of Crowley; one son, James R. Romero, Jr. of Mermentau; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Romero is preceded in death by her parents, Terry and Lena LeJeune Crochet and one son, Michael K. Romero.
