It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sherry Ann Guthrie, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who left this world peacefully on March 9, 2025, in Jennings, Louisiana, at the age of 75. Sherry was born on December 16, 1949, in Jennings, LA, and dedicated her life to the values of love, faith, and family.
Sherry nurtured a deep and unwavering faith in God, which was the foundation of her life. She was a devoted member of her church and an active participant in her community. Known for her generous spirit, she always offered words of encouragement to those around her, uplifting and inspiring many with her kindness. Her joyful nature and compassion will be fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
As a loving mother, Sherry is survived by her son, Stanley Bouley and his wife, Tonya; daughters Angela Daigle, Debra Bouley, Jennifer Dufrene and her husband, Tyler, and Tracy Bouley. She delighted in the company of her grandchildren: Summer Daigle, Madison Daigle, Scarlette Bouley, Jacob Guinn, Hannah Prejean, Hunter Bouley, Autumn Bouley, Gavin Bouley, Trever Dufrene, Caynan Dufrene, AnnMarie Meyer, Ryan Meyer, Darian Meyer, and her great-grandchildren: Delta Stopher, Presley Allemond, Nyles Boudreaux, Navi Boudreaux, Nalu Boudreaux, Peter Guinn, Mable Guinn, Greta Guinn, and Sloan Prejean.
Sherry's life will be commemorated with a public viewing at Hope Church on March 12, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on March 13, 2025, starting at 8:00 AM. A funeral service will follow that same day at 2:00 PM, allowing friends and family to gather in remembrance and celebration of her remarkable life. Sherry will be laid to rest at 3:30 PM on March 13, 2025, at Bon Pasteur Cemetery in Welsh, LA under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Though we mourn her passing, we take comfort in the legacy she leaves behind-one filled with love, faith, and encouragement. Sherry will be truly missed by all who knew her, and her memory will continue to inspire us each day.
Sherry was preceded in death by her husband, James Guthrie, Jr., parents Stanley Johnson, Lucille LeBlanc Doucet; grandchild, Saje Bouley; and her sister Vickie Duhon; and her stepfather, Joseph Doucet.
