Funeral services for Mr. Shelby Pilgrim, 95, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 25, 2016 in the Ardoin Funeral Home in Elton with Rev. Walter Parker officiating.

Burial with Military Honors will be in the China Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Funeral home visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Pilgrim died at 3:25 a.m., Monday, November 21,2016 in the Southwest Louisiana Veteran’s Home in Jennings.

Mr. Pilgrim was a lifelong resident of the Elton area and was a graduate of the Elton High School class of 1939. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a retired carpenter.

Survivors include his wife, Lela M. Vidrine Pilgrim of Eunice; one step-daughter, Edith Jerkins of Eunice; one step-son, Richard Vidrine of Lafayette; and his niece Lee Faris of Tucson, AZ.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry Scott and Mary Josephine Vaughan Pilgrim and his sister Leona Buller.
