Sheilah Mcdow Smith

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Sheilah Mcdow Smith, 84, of Jennings, LA.

Sheilah was born on July 26, 1940, in Welsh, LA, to Floyd Mcdow and Margaret Hebert Mcdow. She was a devoted school teacher in Jefferson Davis Parish for over 25 years. Being a member of United Methodist Church, you can often find her singing in the choir or playing the Ukulele. Sheilah cherished her family and spoiled her grandchildren often. Often times she enjoyed pulling pranks on everyone, even if it scared herself. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and watching western films.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday September 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tim Vanya officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest next to her loving husband in Greenwood Cemtery.

She is survived by her daughter, Heather (Shannon) Deshotel; sons, George "Chris" (Christi) Smith and Kent (Cathy) Smith; grandchildren, Noah (Hailey) Klumpp, Kelsie (Briceson) Derouselle, Kalob (Kilie) Deshotel, Hagan Smith, Merrick Smith, Atticus Smith, Gideon Smith, Caitlin McDaniel, Conner McDaniel and Jacob McDaniel; great grandchildren, Holden Klumpp, and Rhyann and Braxson Derouselle; a niece, Dawn Mcdow; a great-nephew, Dallas Mcdow; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Smith; her parents; a great grandchild, Haven Klumpp; her brother, Joe (Sandra) Mcdow; and a nephew, Bobby Mcdow.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Lamm Family Care and the staff at Camelot Brookside, for the love and care they have given her over the years.
