Funeral services for Mrs. Sharlene Parsley Istre, 55 of Evangeline will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Evangeline with Rev. Paul LeFleur officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mrs. Istre will begin Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. and continue until 9:00 p.m. It will resume Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Istre was a Teacher’s aid. She loved working with her pre-K children, and enjoyed helping everyone. She also loved animals. She was born in Alaska but spent the most of her life in the Jennings area.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur “Jimmy” Parsley; two sisters, Rhonda Burger and Darla Parsley; two brothers, Danny and Michael Parsley and one stepdaughter Tasha Smith.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband Clifford Istre; her mother and stepfather, Mona Benoit and Dan Clifford; two daughters, Samantha Trahan and Ashley Trahan and her fiancé Christian Broussard; two stepdaughters, Christine Istre and Chelsey Istre; one stepson, Christopher Istre and one brother, Art Parsley of California.
