Mr. Savoy moved to Hathaway from Iowa 15 years ago and immediately made a lasting mark on his new community. He was always ready and willing to help in any way and preferred no recognition for his efforts. His love for his community was evidenced in his many affiliations with such organizations as the Hathaway Little Dribblers and the Notre Dame Backers Club. He was instrumental in the forming of the OLI Golf fundraiser, and he was an active member of the OLI Financial Board.

He enjoyed hunting, playing basketball, golfing, and tailgating. His favorite teams, LSU Tigers and the Dallas Cowboys. He treated every child like his own, and was fondly called “PawPaw” or “Uncle” by many. He loved to entertain, and his friends and family were always welcome at his home. The sight of him at a his grill or stove will be a fond memory for all. His first love however, was without a doubt his family: his wife, Sherrell, and his children, Jenna, Matthew and Dylan. Shannon will be remembered as a loving husband, wonderful father, amazing brother, exceptional friend and a mentor to all who were privileged to know him.

He was dedicated to his job as Vice President of Production for Fieldwood Energy with 23 years of experience in the oilfield industry.
