Sara June Sonnier

Funeral services for Mrs. Sara June Thompson Sonnier, 75, of Jennings will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Buddy Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mrs. Sonnier will begin on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. in Jennings and will close at 9:00 p.m. It will resume Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. and continue until the service at 10:00 a.m.

Mrs. Sonnier was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her large family. Special moments were spent playing with her fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching the Saints and Yankees play and she loved playing cards with friends and family.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 56 years, Andrew Sonnier of Jennings; daughters, Tammy Andrews of Jennings, Tracy (Joe) Manuel of Elton, and Tanya (Scottie Allemand) Sonnier of Lake Arthur, Betty Sonnier of Temple, TX and Carolyn (Denny) Lopez of Jennings; one son, Charles (Kim) Thompson of Lafayette; fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Those preceding her in death are her parents, William Hatten and Leona Bonvillian Thompson; a son, Anthony “Tony” Sonnier; two sisters, Sally Jane Thompson and Lee Barnett; and three brothers, Paul, Harold and Leo Thompson.
