Sadie P. Doucet

Sadie Marie Doucet was born September 10, 1926 and passed away from this life September 7, 2024.

Affectionately known to her family as, “Mawmaw”, Sadie enjoyed her life with her family in the center. She was lovingly married to her husband, Lester, for total of 50 years. Together, they left a legacy of faith in Christ to their three children and families. Sadie enjoyed reading, especially the Bible, but was also fond of books on natural remedies and Devotionals. She was a great cook, baker, and maker of homemade ice cream.

She very much loved to cook for anyone and everyone but was happiest at preparing family holiday meals. Sadie also had a love for music, especially hymns. She was a humble person with a servant’s heart. Amazingly, she was able to remain strong and independent for most of her life of 97 years. Her faith, her cooking, her smiles and love for her family, no doubt will be remembered by each for the rest of their lives.

Visitation for Sadie will be held on Friday September 13, 2024, at Christ’s Church in Jennings, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the church with Brother Phil Doucet and Brother Roy Platt officiating. She will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Left to remember and cherish her memories are her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly (Mark) Dunbar; sons and daughters-in-law, Phil (Christy) Doucet and James (Debbie) Doucet; grandchildren, Carrisa Landry, Jennifer Rice, Michael Doucet, Michelle Herard; Melissa Goings, Maria Miller, Mika Estorpe and Jay Doucet; great-grandchildren, Kirsten, Jessica, Dylan, Milana, Tristen, Myah, David, Macy, Alayna, Gabriel, Ellie, Caleb, Avery, Sadie and Koa; great-great grandchild, Jillian.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Christoval Lester Doucet; her brothers; her sisters; one grandchild, Hannah Miller; two great grandchildren, Jonah and Joseph.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Jeff Davis Living Center and Lamm Hospice for the care they have given to Sadie.
