Sacha Houssiere Patin

JENNINGS Funeral Services will be held at 2pm Thursday September 17, 2015 at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings LA with Father Charles McMillan officiating. He will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Visitation will be held at Miguez Funeral Home from 4-8pm Wednesday September 16, 2015. Mr. Patin passed away surrounded by loved ones in Orlando Florida after a valiant fight of 5 years against melanoma cancer. Sacha was born in Jennings LA April 28 1969 to Sandra Houssiere Patin and Michael Wayne Patin. Houston Texas was called home by the family. In 1987 Sacha moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas. At UT he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. His love of Austin is legendary. Sacha was a vital part of Austin civic, cultural and church activities all of his years in Austin. He volunteered and chaired fundraisers for Life Works and Leap. He was an active member of Lake Hills Church in Austin. He was passionate about the lakes around Austin and spent many memorable hours participating in water sports, boating and lake parties with his friends. He made Austin his home until 2012 when he moved to Orlando Florida. He joined the Avalon Park Rotary Club where he was honored with the Rookie of the Year Award and immediately made an impact by organizing and chairing the Avalon Park Wine Walk that resulted in recognizing local business and benefiting local charities. An avid sports fan, the University of Texas Longhorns dominated his Fall/ Saturdays since 1987. Sacha loved being with family and friends, travelling, snow skiing, all water sports, attending music concerts and enjoying all types of gourmet cooking and fine dining. Sacha never met a stranger he did not enjoy; he will be greatly missed by all he knew and those who loved him. He is survived by his fiancée Dede DeWine Aspery, her two daughters, Taylor and Morgan; his mother Sandra Houssiere and father Michael Patin, his sister Kelly (Carson) Rutz, nephews Harrison and Bennett, his uncle Rusty (Jane) Houssiere, his Patin uncles Donny and Perry (Dot) Patin and Aunt Debbie, cousins Christian (Kristi) Houssiere, and Genevieve (Simon )James, Sara (Ben) McMath , Daniel (Kelli) Patin and Patrick Patin. He is also survived by his dear and close friends from his beloved Austin “family”.
