Russell Fontenot

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Russell Fontenot, 81, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating. Burial will be in the Bon Pasteur Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Monday; and 8:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Monday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Fontenot died at 4:47 p.m., Saturday, July 20, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Fontenot was a native of Lake Arthur and lived most of his life in the Thornwell area. He was a graduate of the Lake Arthur High School class of 1950. Mr. Fontenot is survived by his wife, Patty Peavey Fontenot of Thornwell; one daughter, Sandra Dartez and Fianc, Hank Weeks of Lafayette; two sons, Russell A. Fontenot and wife Susan of Katy, TX, Phillip W. Fontenot and wife Carmen of Lafayette; one sister, Dorothy Jane Fontenot of Lake Charles; four grandchildren, Chase, Blake and Luke Fontenot and Ryan Choate; four step-children, Diane Choate and husband Rodney, Sharon Moore and husband Stan, Stephen Peavey and wife Sheila; and Dwayne Peavey. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rayo and Ethel Israel Fontenot; his first wife, Wilma Inez Fontenot; and two brothers, Woodrow and Wallace Fontenot.
