Funeral services for Mr. Royce “R.J.” Bonin, 81, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 8, 2016 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating.

Burial with military graveside honors will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur.

Funeral home visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday; and 8:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel.

Mr. Bonin died at 6:56 p.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2016 in his residence in Jennings.

Mr. Bonin was a lifelong resident of the Lake Arthur/Jennings area and served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Oustalet Automotive Group after 27 years and owned RJ’s Restaurant before that. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church where he served as lector and funeral usher. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club and the Financial Committee at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Hoag Bonin of Jennings; four daughters, Mrs. Raymond “Corma” Sisk of Houston, TX, Mrs. Timothy “Kathy” Nicholas of Moss Bluff, Mrs. Clinton “Gerry” LaCombe of Welsh, Mrs. Christopher “Libby” Fontenot of Jennings; two sons, Todd Bonin of Lafayette, Tyler Cormier of Jennings; one brother, Robert Bonin and wife Renella of Breaux Bridge; one sister in law Madeline Bonin of Lake Arthur; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; eight nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Famon and Clara Myers Bonin and one brother Herbert “Tubby” Bonin.

Pallbearers will be Todd Bonin, Tyler Cormier, Timothy Nicholas, Nathan Nicholas, Zachary Nicholas, Josh LaCombe, Aaron Sisk and Jude Sisk.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Fontenot, Clinton LaCombe, Raymond Sisk, Tim Nicholas and Justin Bonin.
