Roy was born in Jennings on February, 14, 1939 to Herman L. and Elsie Compton Talley.  He was a lifelong resident of the Hathaway community. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force. He met the love of his life, Beatrice Mier, at a sock hop in Crowley, and he persuaded her to marry him on July 26, 1959. He and Beatrice had 3 children that were the best of themselves.  He was so loved and he loved back unconditionally.  He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing, shrimping, crabbing, and hunting, and he enjoyed traveling with his family and friends. In his spare time, he liked dancing and listening to country music, working in his shop, refurbishing and building custom wood furniture, or playing poker at the casino.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Tamilyn (Kenneth) Ebarb of Zwolle, Michael (Rhonda) Talley of Jennings, and Jeffrey (Christi) Talley of Farmerville. Gramps had seven grandchildren, Mitchell (Brittany) Talley, Nicholas (Loni) Talley, Jada (Brian) Lorio, Mason Talley, and Jaeger, Jensen, and Kaydence Ebarb, and seven great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Labbie, Mason Talley, Mitchell Talley, Nicholas Talley, Jaeger Ebarb, and Brian Lorio. Honorary pallbearer is Jensen Ebarb.

Life will not be the same without him; he will be greatly missed by family and those who were so very fortunate to have crossed his path.
