Rose Alice Hanchey

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Alice Hall Hanchey, 85, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 17, 2015 in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Jeffery Cook officiating. Burial will be in the Cooper Cemetery near Merryville (8 miles West of DeRidder) at 1:00 PM under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday; and at the church beginning at 8:00 a.m. until time of the service. Mrs. Hanchey died at 11:25 p.m., Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Hanchey was a native of Beaumont, Texas and a resident of Jennings since 1965 moving here from Lake Charles. She was a retired clerk for the Calcasieu Parish Tax Assessor’s Office; she loved to sew, was an excellent cook and was active in several charitable organizations. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she attended Regilyn Carter’s Sunday school class and was a member of the BYAH’s. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Arlen Hanchey of Jennings; sisters-in-law, Elaine Cox and Eldene Niel both of Lake Charles, Willene Marsalise of DeRidder; brothers-in-law, William Jennings Hanchey of Union Town, OH, Reginald Alton Hanchey of Ruston; one sister, Ruby Mae Hall of Alexandria, LA; and two brothers, Lewis Earl Hall of Sulphur and Kenneth Charles Hall of Newhall, CA.
