Ronald Clifton Abshire

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Ronald Clifton Abshire, 65, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 4, 2014 in the Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur with Rev. Michael Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Andrus Cove Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Abshire died at 8:33 p.m., Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at his residence in Lake Arthur. Mr. Abshire was a three year resident of Lake Arthur moving here from Lake Charles. He was a retired glazer from Service Glass and Door of Lake Charles and loved spending time with his grandchildren, going to the beach, fishing, riding his scooter and going to flea markets. Survivors include two daughters, Faline Daniels and husband Marcus of Lake Arthur, Karly Woods and husband Kelley of Boerne, Texas; one son, Steven Nolan and wife Wendy of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Carolyn Parker and husband Byron of Lake Arthur, Evelyn Bertrand and husband Tony of Lake Arthur, Pamela Gary and husband JR of Lake Charles and seven grandchildren. Mr. Abshire is preceded in death by his parents, John and Irene Vincent Abshire; and two brothers, Leonard and Tommy Abshire.
