Rolley "Mel" Melville Person

Funeral services for Mr. Rolley “Mel” Melville Person, 83, of Jennings, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018 in the chapel at Miguez Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery with full military honors.

Visitation for Mr. Person will begin Wednesday evening at 5:00p.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. It will resume again Thursday morning at 8:00a.m. until time of service.

Mr. Person was born on March 29, 1934 in Rosepine to Emil Melville Person and Mary Pearl McMullen Person. He lived most of his life in the Jennings area after moving here from Rosepine, LA. He served his country as a Marine. Mr. Person worked as an operator in the oil industry.

He enjoyed fishing, training horses and pulling pranks on people.

He is survived by his children, three daughters, Rhonda (Edward) Duhon of Jennings, Rollie (David) Faul of Welsh, Suzanne (John)Hughes of Shreveport; and one son, Melville Clint(Rachael)Person of Jennings; one sister, Jo Ann(Don) Wood of Rosepine; two brothers, Noble (Ginny)Person of Basile, J. W.(Alice)Person of Rosepine; thirteen grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Mr. Person was preceded in death by his parents Emil and Mary Pearl McMullen Person; his wife, Della Ruth Gary Person; a son Gregory Cord Person and one brother, Jim Person.

Pallbearers will be Justin Hanks, Christopher Hanks, Leighton Faul, Cord Faul, Jackson Person and Jett Person.
