Funeral services for Rocky James Fontenot, 58, of Welsh, will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings with Brother Darrell Hieronymus officiating.

Visitation for Mr. Rocky will begin Friday, May 10, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. He will be placed to rest in Calvary Cemetery, under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Rocky was born on June 28, 1965, in Jennings, LA, to Cleveland Paul Fontenot II and Mary Lou Leblanc. He worked for many years as an operator for the Jefferson Davis Parish Police Jury. He enjoyed making people laugh and he was always willing to lend a hand. You can often find him spending time with his family, either it was cooking or mud riding, he cherished family time. He loved his grandchildren, and they will always hold a special place in his heart. One of his favorite joys was also crawfishing in his fields.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Penny Meche Fontenot; daughter, Eva Fontenot; son, Jessie (Brittany) Fontenot; his sisters, Marilyn Benoit, and Carolyn Neal; brother, Cleveland “Paul” Fontenot, III; grandchildren, Wyatt, Jessie, Olivia, Mary, Caroline, and Raevyn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Fontenot and brother -in-law, David Benoit.
