Funeral services for Mr. Robert “Pop-Pop” William Tietje, 65, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in Roanoke United Methodist Church with Rev. Walter Parker officiating.  Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at the church from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will resume at 8:00 a.m. Friday until the time of service.

Mr. Tietje was born on August 17, 1957, in Jennings, to Cyrus William and Ollie Calhoun Tietje.   He worked very hard as a farmer to support his family.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, writing poetry and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Lesley Jenkins Tietje; his parents, Cyrus and Ollie Tietje; two daughters, Violet (Ryan) Jolie and Emma (Bob Gordon) Tietje, all of Roanoke; a son, William (Heather) Tietje of Lake Arthur; a sister, Linda (Randy) Barnes of Cabot, AR; a brother, Dennis (Trudy) Tietje of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Amiell Tietje, Eli Jolie, Eleanor Gordon, Isaiah Tietje, Elijah Tietje and Jack Gordon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Roanoke United Methodist Church to help defer funeral cost.
