JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Robert Mitchell Reed, 58, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2011 in the Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings with Deacon Bennett McNeal officiating. Burial will be in the Reed Cemetery near Basile. Funeral home visitation will be from 2:00 p.m., Friday until time of services Saturday. Mr. Reed died at 9:26 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2011 in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Hospital in Lafayette. Mr. Reed was a four year resident of Sulphur moving there from the Tee-Mamou area. He was a sugar cane farmer and loved hunting, fishing and camping. He loved the outdoors. Survivors include his wife, Gail Thibodeaux Reed of Sulphur; one daughter, Britni Douga and husband Billy of Vinton; four sons, James Reed and wife Sara of Sulphur, Robert Reed, Jr. of Sulphur, Jarrett Ewing of Sulphur, Joshua Ewing and wife Nicola of Lake Charles; one sister, Talley Theriot and husband Chief of Evangeline; one brother, Wayne Reed and wife Alta of Welsh; grandchildren, Kelsie Reed, Nathan, Jami and Gabe Thibodeaux, Kylie and Jaiden Ewing, Tristan Edmond, Chloe, Alexis, Alex and Andrew Ewing, Wyatt, Logan and Charlee Reed; and one great grandson, Jayz Conner. Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica Reed; his parents, Felix and Bernice Reed; two brothers, Bert and Norris Reed, and two sisters, Lassie Crochet and Susie Courville. Pallbearers will be James Reed, Jarrett Ewing, Robert Reed, Jr., Don Reed, Jeffery Crochet, and Joshua Ewing. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Landry, Nathan Thibodeaux and Dwayne Conner.
