Lake Arthur Funeral services for Mr. Robert Darrel Conner, 81 will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2013 in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Arthur with Mr. Doug Broyles officiating. Burial will be in the Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Mr. Conner died Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 12:41 p.m. in the LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. Visitation hours on Sunday, July 28, 2013 will be from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation on Monday will be from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mr. Conner was a native of Lake Arthur, worked as a boat Captain for Superior Oil Co. and lived his last twenty five years in Toledo Bend. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. Robert loved to Bar-B-Que, do gardening, hunting, shrimping, playing with his labradors and spending time with his family. Mr. Conner is survived by his wife of thirty-five years; Deanna Conner of Many, LA, a daughter, Nadine Conner and husband James Dam of Many, LA, six sons; Wade Conner of Orange, TX, Darrel Conner and wife Veronica of Florine, LA, Edward Conner, Zackery Conner and Willard Conner, Jr. all of Many, LA, and Spencer Conner of Jennings, LA, three sisters; Lois Stroh of Lake Charles, LA, Stella Thompson of Alvin, TX and Mildred Ryder of Lake Arthur, LA, a brother; John Conner of Baton Rouge, 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ola Trahan Conner, a son, Willard Conner, Sr., a sister, Clara May Conner and six brothers; Lionis, Charlie, Desira, Willard, Clarence and Burnis Conner.
