Ricky Aucoin

The family of Ricky Cyrus Aucoin, of Jennings, announces his passing on January 10, 2025, at the age of 56.

A gathering of friends and family of Mr. Ricky will be held on Tuesday January 14, 2025, in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Funeral services to honor Ricky's life will begin at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel, with Brother Dennis House officiating. He will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery, under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Ricky was born on October 31, 1968, in Welsh, Louisiana, to Claude Aucoin, Sr. and Bernice Deshotel Aucoin. For many years, he spent his life welding for various jobs, which he enjoyed doing. He loved playing video games and shooting pool with friends and family. When he was not spending time with family, he loved to enjoy the outdoors either hunting or fishing.

If you knew him, you know he was no ordinary fisherman. Ricky was the true definition of an American Angler. He passionately loved to be out in the open waters, casting his reel every chance he could. He was someone who can be somewhere empty handed, use the items around him, and throw a line out and out fish everyone. He is now fishing the lakes of paradise and we will always cherish the legacy he leaves behind.

Left to cherish their memories of him are his mother, Bernice; son, Alex James Burhans; sister and brother-in-law, Patty Reed and husband David; and his brother and sister-in-law, Claude "Dozey" Aucoin, Jr. and wife, Tammie.

He was preceded in death by his father.
