Richard Lee Bourgeois

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Richard Lee Bourgeois, 76, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Clyde Thomas officiating. Funeral home visitation will be from 12 noon until 10:00 p.m., today, Tuesday; and 8:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. today, Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery under direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Mr. Bourgeois died at 10:55 a.m., Monday, March 22, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Bourgeois was a resident of Lake Arthur 49 years moving there from Iowa, LA. He worked 28 years for The Superior Oil Company and 12 years with Mobil Oil. He was a Merchant Marine for two years and a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Broussard Bourgeois of Lake Arthur; two daughters, Tana Garcia and husband Dennis of Lake Arthur, Kempa Savoie and husband Kevin of Grand Lake; two sons; Ty Bourgeois and wife Danine of Lake Charles, Blane Bourgeois and wife Dina of Lake Arthur; two sisters, Ruth Johnson and husband Amos of Iowa, LA, Nola Broussard and husband Gordon of Iowa, LA; two brothers, Charles Bourgeois and wife Barbara of Lake Charles, Kenneth Bourgeois and wife Roberta of Iowa, LA; 13 grandchildren, Blake, Kendle and Zane Garcia, Matthew, Christian, Joshua Bourgeois, Danielle and Katelyn Courville, Renn, Hanna and Tate Savoie, Reagan and Myles Bourgeois; and one great grandchild, Bailey Garcia. The pallbearers will be the seven grandsons. Mr. Bourgeois was preceded in death by his parents, Dudley and Lelia Louviere Bourgeois; one brother, Dudley DJ Bourgeois, Jr. and one grandchild, Kirstie Savoie.
