Rhonda Gayle Quirk was born June 3, 1956 in Oakdale, LA. She graduated from Iota High School in 1974. She continued her education at McNeese State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.

She began her teaching career at Vidrine Elementary. She finished her career teaching at Oakdale Middle School.

 She left her earthly home March 4, 2021 at 11:28 p.m. In keeping with Rhonda’s loving and generous spirit, it was her decision to donate life so others may live it. Rhonda was a registered organ, tissue, and eye donor.

A celebration of life Memorial Service will be held Sunday March 14, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. at Grace Community Baptist Church. 212 Mamou Prairie Road Iota, LA 70543. A reception to follow in the fellowship area.

Left to cherish her memories are one daughter Tiffany (Carlton) Thomas of Eunice, LA. One granddaughter Kayla Lene’ Thomas, one grandson Zachary Ryan Thomas. One sister Pamela (Victor) Cart of Longview, TX. Two brothers Rodney Glen (Sue) Quirk of Iota, and Terrell (the late Edna) Quirk of Abbeville, LA.  Two nieces Leah (Derek) Lopez and Hannah (Ross) Morgan. Five nephews Buddy (Karen) Cart, Josh (Joellan) Quirk, Barrett Lejeune, Boyd Lejeune, and Bobby (Tiffine) Graham. 8 great nephews and 7 great nieces. A host of cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Parents Rodney Roland Quirk and Alvia Elaine Quirk, and two nephews Cody Quirk and Ryan Cart.

Final arrangements of her earthly body are being handled by Miguez Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Camelot Nursing Home, Jennings American Legion Hospital and Crowley Hospital.
