LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Rev. Harry Lee Authement, 77, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2009 in the Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur with Rev. Horace Dellafosse officiating. Burial will be in Shell Beach Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., today, Thursday; and 8:00 a.m. Friday until time of services. Rev. Authement died at 9:05 a.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2009 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Rev. Authement was a lifelong resident of the Lake Arthur area. He was pastor of the Evangelistic Missions for Jesus Christ. Rev. Authement received Christ as his personal Savior at the age of nine and began preaching at the age of sixteen. His first employment was in the rice fields. He had numerous other jobs until he started working as a policeman in Lake Arthur. He was a policeman for 25 years having worked in Jennings and Welsh as well as Lake Arthur. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Pettijohn Authement of Lake Arthur; one daughter, Shirley Perry and husband Tony of Sulphur, one son, Shelton Breaux and wife Vickie of Jennings; three sisters, Nettie Mataejicek and husband Charlie of Inez, TX, Dorothy Breaux of Jennings, Myrtle Sonnier of Winnie, TX; grandchildren, Evelyn Perry, Tabatha Perry, Melissa Perry, Sheldon Perry, Erica Breaux, Bradley Breaux; and great grandchildren, Kaelyn Morgan and Christian Morgan. Rev. Authement was preceded in death by his parents, Cyrus and Margaret LaComb Authement, his first wife, Eva Breaux; one brother, Walter Authement and one sister, Betty Luckey.
