A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Renee’ Odette Benoit, 50, of Gueydan will be held in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Charles McMillin officiating. She will be laid to rest in Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Renee’ will begin on Thursday, September 12 at 5:00 p.m. and continue until 10:00 p.m. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. and continue until 1:30 p.m.

Renee’ was a lifelong resident of Gueydan. She graduated from Gueydan High School in 1987 and continued her education at McNeese State University where she proudly graduated in 1992. She was a mother and homemaker who loved her family dearly and although her condition limited her life, she lived vicariously through her children.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her devout parents, Burnie and Loretta Quebodeaux Benoit of Gueydan; her daughter, Sabrina Benoit of Turku, Finland; her son, Griffin Benoit of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Rachel (Douglas) Walters of Iowa, Pam (Whitney) Duplantis of Lake Arthur, Katy (Chad) Bertrand of Gueydan and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Sidney and Eva Quebodeaux and her paternal grandparents, Charlie and Lillian Benoit.

Pallbearers will be, Drew, Brandon and Luke Bertrand and Ben, Trent and Eric Duplantis.
