LAKE ARTHUR

Graveside services with military honors for Mr. Rene P. Chaisson, 79, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2016 in the St. Anthony Cemetery with Rev. Babasino Fernandes officiating.

Mr. Chaisson’s body was cremated under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur.

Mr. Chaisson died at 7:20 a.m., Monday, April 25, 2016 in his residence.

He was a native of Westwego and a resident of Lake Arthur since 1959. He was a retired Assistant Chief of Police for the Lake Arthur Police Department. He also worked for Ed Conner, Inc. and the Lake Arthur Housing Authority. He was a high school graduate and served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War.

Survivors include one son, Wilton Chaisson and wife Angella of Lake Arthur; special friend, Mrs. Ann Guillory of Lake Arthur; one sister, Betty Jean Boudreaux of Norco; one brother, Norris “Smitty” Chaisson of Westwego; one grandson Trevor Romero; two step-granddaughters, Chasity and Tory Broussard of Lake Arthur and one sister in law, Clara Shoemake.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rene W. and Vince Haydel Chaisson; his wife, Ruby Joyce Chaisson; one daughter, Lucette Chaisson; nine brothers, C.J. Gerald, Oscar, Chester, Howard, Lawrence, Gary, J.T. and Charlie Chaisson and one sister, Grace Usea.
